The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 25) began in Madrid, where global leaders and stakeholders are convening to take the next steps to fight climate change. The BMW Group has been an active partner in the COP Conferences since 2008 and is a global leader in electric mobility and green energy. This year, the group will present its expertise on sustainable development, electric mobility, and renew its involvement as a headline sponsor of the Sustainable Innovation Forum, one of the leading sustainability conferences in the UN COP fringe program.
The BMW Group has also committed to further reduce carbon emissions by joining the “Getting to Zero Coalition”. The initiative is a partnership between the Global Maritime Forum, the Friends of Ocean Action, and the World Economic Forum and focuses on using zero-emission cargo vessels from 2030. Through its participation with the Getting to Zero Coalition, the BMW Group is continuing to push for decarbonization, applying sustainability strategies along the value chain, and furthering the development of electric mobility.
