The Open Manufacturing Platform, otherwise known as OMP, has expanded and now has new steering committee members and working groups. Founded in 2019, the OMP works to help manufacturing companies accelerate innovation at scale through cross-industry collaboration, data-sharing, and accessing new technologies.
The BMW Group has been an original member of the group along with Microsoft. New additions to the group include: Anheuser – Busch InBev, Bosch Group, ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Through its work the steering committee has approved a number of working groups to focus on core areas of importance in the industry including IoT connectivity, semantic data models, autonomous transport systems, and more.
