Here’s to the women who are empowering, inspiring, and leading others!

This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating our Women of BMW! Each nominee exemplifies the pillars of movement and BMW and serves as an inspiration for the BMW family. Throughout the series, we will hear the stories and advice from women leaders who have broken stereotypes and shattered glass ceilings. We created the #WomenofBMW series to highlight the progress of women in their roles throughout the automotive industry while motivating change going forward.

Q: In a few words, describe your role at BMW?

A: I am currently the Strategy Enablement Specialist within the PMQ department for SF2-US-S. In this role I am responsible for communicating and reporting strategic topics for SF2-US-S-5 and SF2-US-S across all levels. I serve as the first point of contact for SF2-US-S overall strategic topics, in alignment with SF2 (Strategic Planning and Steering) and SF2-US-S-51 (Strategy Alignment).

Q: As someone who spearheaded the Social Impact Mentoring Program for employees, can you describe to us what the program does and how it is helping employees?

A: BMW Group Associates act as mentors for young social entrepreneurs to help cultivate a highly capable and impactful generation of social business leaders and economic growth worldwide. This program leverages the skills & expertise of BMW Associates who have business savvy and leadership experience with social entrepreneurs across the world who need advice on the business aspects of their social businesses (i.e. drafting presentations, developing business plans, etc.) The Social Impact Mentoring Program provides our Associates with new innovation skills, the opportunity to make a true and lasting impact, as well as unleashing their entrepreneurial talent.

Q: How important is it to foster a supportive culture in the workplace?

A: We spend a majority of our time each day with the people we work with. They are our second family and I think creating and maintaining a supportive and encouraging atmosphere is crucial. We are all here to work, and our common goal is to support the company we work for. Our Associates come from all walks of life and it is important that we recognize the different perspectives and skills they bring to the business. Doing that starts with the culture we have here.

Q: What advice would you give to women pursuing a career in your field?

A: Own your space. Always remember that you have worked hard to be where you are and are deserving of it. Own your space and continue to learn and grow within that space.

Q: What inspires you in the workplace and why?

A: Women in leadership within the company. Nothing motivates me more than seeing a woman in a leadership role. It gives me something to work towards that I know is attainable. I have been lucky enough within this business to have several women role models. They have helped me in so many ways and have been part of the reason I have pushed myself as hard as I do.
